Delicious food. Authentic and not heavy sauces. Quaint ambiance. A destination experience in Newcastle.

Got lucky and tried this sweet spot on our drive down the 80! We are always looking for a quick spot to stop that's not fast food or lit up with fluorescent lights. Found it! Great friendly staff serving delicious italian food. We had the vegetarian pizza on fresh and tasty crust. YUM. We did not try the pasta tonight but we watched as 3 gorgeous dishes went past and have made a pact to return and try the pasta soon. Salad was simple and fresh. Highly recommend.

This restaurant is a true hidden gem!! The food is beyond delicious, fresh, tasty, authentic and the serving size is enough to share.. the ambiance is peaceful, clean, comfortable. Riley was our server and she was perfectly wonderful!! Her service made our visit outstanding!! We can't wait to go back..

I have followed La Fornaretta on IG for a while, lured in by photos of tasty pizza. Finally I got off my you-know-what and ventured in (really it's more that I have to abandon my love of Mexican food and margaritas), and I am so glad that I did. The location is charming and easy off the 80, the staff attentive and friendly, and the pizza is as good as it looks. A+! The only downside was that my friend already knew about it and so I didn't have the bragging rights of showing her a new place - but she loves it too! So there you go! Give it a try!

Great Italian place! The food was delicious and tasted fresh. I was impressed with their take on the meatballs. They had pine nuts which tasted amazing. We went right when it opened because you cannot make reservations. It did take the staff a bit to get settled but once they got it it going, everything went smoothly. I had the linguini with clams which was delightful and not too heavy. It needed a little salt but it was good. I'll be back to try the carbonara.

The food, service and ambiance was just right. We drove 33 minutes to try something new in an adorable small town and it was well worth the drive. We definitely will return to try other selections on the menu next time. We love that there was a wine bar next door to make the wait for our table not feel like we were waiting as long. Everyone was very kind and our friend lost his phone, but someone returned and we are so thankful.

I had the pleasure of being invited to a small gathering at this restaurant. Is definitely a hidden gem which are my favorite. The outside will fool you, it has this cabin aesthetic look. However, the food is quite phenomenal extremely authentic Italian dishes. Everything on their menu tasted delicious along with their selection of Wine. Service was equally as enjoyable since they are so accommodating. We were a party of six and no reservations, and were seated without any wait time. If you ever find yourself in Placer County stop by this amazing restaurant, the drive can be tricky but it is worth it.

We were immediately seated and promptly given water and bread. Edgar provided excellent service. The scallop appetizer was incredible. My seafood linguini was delicious and my fiancé loved his meal as well. The desserts were traditional and not Americanized. We had a wonderful dinner. The space is intimate yet didn't feel crowded. Looking forward to coming back to try their amazing looking pizzas!
